This is what you have been asking for, a photo of an older copper sink. This is the inside of one of my copper sinks. As you can see, the interior is beautiful. The copper sink is now 7 years old and has had just about as much abuse as any sink would ever have. I have cleaned my outdoor grill, left things in the sink over night, etc. As you can see, the Mountain Plumbing Products drain is pure stainless now. It was weathered, but the plating only lasted a year. This is why we recommend the Vostra USA solid copper drain with our sinks now. This copper sink was ordered in raw copper and aged
naturally over the years. For those of you who think copper is difficult to
care for, just look at the photo and imagine NO scrubbing, no special
cleaners, very little maintenance at all. You do not see green, right?
Copper does not turn green in a kitchen setting with normal use. The interior of a copper sink should be the color of an old penny - a caramel color. If you are looking at a sink that is not the color of an old penny (on the inside), it will most certainly be a maintenance problem. No matter what you do to copper, in a kitchen environment, it always wants to turn a caramel color. A "faux' finish (any other coloration to the interior of the sink) will never last and the areas which receive wear and tear will turn a caramel color and will not match the rest of the sink. |

Copper undermount kitchen sink with right rear drain (our solid copper drain - which has a lifetime warranty) |
These are photos copper sinks that we aged. Our aging process is an accelerated process similar to what will occur naturally over time with your sink. Our process does not affect the natural antibacterial properties of copper! Almost all other sinks offer "finishes" or coatings which totally eliminate the natural antibacterial properties of copper. Let us tell you more about why we feel our sinks are the only sinks on the market which you will be happy with long term! Give us a call at 1-888-880-9469 What you are seeing in these photos is the natural coloration of copper when it ages during normal use in a home. Copper can be a nightmare to care for
OR it can be maintenance free. Ask us
why only our sinks are maintenance free and how we can offer a lifetime
warranty! |
Finally... A real copper drain! All of the drains and disposal flanges and stoppers on the market until now have been plated. The plating eventually wears off. These are the very first solid copper drains on the market. You are seeing them for the first time and we have a few in stock. Our supplier has offered us a small supply and has told us it could be two months before we can have more. If you are considering a copper sink, whether it is ours or someone else's, you should get this drain or disposal flange and strainer. Our copper drain actively kills bacteria, and is maintenance free. It will weather along with your sink and you can do nothing to hurt the finish, because there is none! We have two types, one for a drain without a disposal and one for a disposal. Both have strainer/stoppers. You may purchase this online here. |

We specialize in custom! If you have an unusual requirement, we can generally make a perfect sink for you. This sink was designed for a client with an unusual angle situation in the kitchen sink area. The process was simple. They gave us dimensions, we returned a drawing for approval, the sink was ordered and delivered in about 4 weeks. By the way, is this not a brilliant idea for a corner? Check out this idea for the perfect sink for a diagonal corner kitchen! |

This is a photo of the copper sink we supplied for the 2006 HGTV house, as well as a bit of the copper countertop we had built by Luxury Home Products for the island. Note the detail of the countertop edge. The finish on the countertop was a modified Tuscan Gold finish - customized to suit the end user. |

First, let me dispel a myth! We have had several customers call to inquire about the care of copper sinks. Some have been told by their friends, designers, and plumbers that copper is difficult to care for. There is some truth to that myth. If you are looking to keep your sink looking like a new shiny penny, you are in for some effort. If you would like the sink to age naturally to a beautiful variety of darker copper colors, you are in for a treat. As far as your sink turning green - very unlikely. We have 4 copper sinks and a totally copper shower in our home. No green!!! If you would like to see a photo of a three year old sink (mine) which has not been polished in two years, click here. |

This is a copper radius front apron console sink. The sink is 60" wide and is designed to be mounted on the wall with the use of a specially designed mounting bracket. This sink has our Fire and Ice Finish. |
Here are photos of our copper apron front farm sink with all radius interiors. This option costs a bit more, but it is a truly beautiful addition to our already stunning copper sinks. Our radius corners are silky smooth, unlike some rough finishing we've seen. Click on the photos below to see close-ups of our radius corners.

This is our master bath vanity area. We have two
copper vessel sinks. Just around the corner is a shower made entirely of copper,
including the ceiling and crown molding. We have lived in the house 6 years, and
have never had to clean the shower walls nor ceiling. Totally maintenance free! |

This beautiful kitchen featured our copper curved apron front sink, as well as our wrought iron countertop supports. |

We recently introduced our copper "Smart Sink" at the National Kitchen and Bath Show. The "Smart Sink" has a full backsplash built into the sink so wet hands drip into the sink when turning off the water. This type of sink makes so much sense. It also will lower the cost of your granite, as granite is stopped on either side of the sink. This could potentially save you $100 to $200. |
Introducing the "Ultimate Comfort Sink" This is truly the ultimate sink for comfort where there are two or more people using a sink and one is much taller than the other. My personal situation was the catalyst in the design. I am 5' 9" and my wife is 5' 4". We have two large sinks in our kitchen. I made one 10" deep and the other 12" deep The 12" deep sink is not comfortable for my wife. That sink happens to be the one we use the most. So... I had to come up with a solution! My solution solved several problems. I put a false bottom on the left side of the sink. It measures about 20" wide. I designed it to have randomly placed holes for drainage. It sits about 3" higher than the bottom of the sink. Now my wife, Maria, can use the sink comfortably. The false bottom is removable so you can have a flat bottom when cleaning larger items such as cookie sheets, etc. It also serves as terrific set-off space. Dishes can be stacked after they are scraped and rinsed. By the way, this same sink is pictured below in various stages of aging. The sink is now just about 2 years old and has only been cleaned twice with copper cleaner. That was done for two photo shoots. |
Our newest product... a copper pedestal sink. It features a drip edge, an ogee design and a deck on three sides for set-off space. |
The "Eclipse" sink. We now offer a hybrid copper apron front sink with a stainless interior. To our knowledge, no one has attempted this combination before in a sink. We polish the front to a high sheen, then topcoat it to protect it.
A World's First... They said it couldn't be done... Copper and Stainless fusion! This is a photo of an actual fusion of copper and stainless. |
Our eclipse sink features the ability to blend copper and stainless steel. This huge sink was built with an integral copper back splash. The sink was made of stainless, the apron and back were made of copper. This requires a considerable amount of skill. We purposefully make all of our photos "clickable" to very large images. This way you can better see the quality of our sinks. A small view may hide significant "issues". |
How is this for a unique application? The drain was put in the rear for use in a potting shed. This configuration leaves virtually all of the sink clear as a work surface. Patent US D497-201 |
When a copper sink is freshly made, it has a pinkish cast to it. Generally, a few days later, it starts to become more orange and then it begins to become browner. The photo on the right is of a newly manufactured copper apron front sink with a backsplash attached. Patent granted on design. We have a patent on any apron front sink which has a shorter apron than the bowl depth. Competitors be advised! |
The ultimate in copper sinks - the apron front sink with a full splash. This sink measures 39" wide, 22" front to back and 12" deep. It is a monster! This photo was taken when the sink was new and a pinkish color. This is one of the sinks in my house. |
Another view of the above sink taken about 9 months later after the sink has aged and lost the "pink" coloration. . Note the faucet... It is a Harrington Brassworks wall mounted faucet with solid metal side spray. The finish is satin nickel. It looks gorgeous with the copper. There are stainless steel appliances in the kitchen that pick up on the satin nickel coloration. (The tile on the wall is a faux tile, painted on the drywall) The floor is cork. |
A 48 ounce copper apron front. This one has a 12" apron, but was designed to be 10 inches deep. The sink is 24" wide. This is our second sink in the kitchen. |
We can build you a copper countertop. This "L" shaped top is in my kitchen. We can put several types of finishes and topcoats on it. Call and speak to our customer care personnel for further details. |

A copper vessel sink sitting on black granite. This vessel is one of two in our master bath. It has now been installed almost 5 years. Virtually no maintenance - and virtually bacteria free! |
This sink is a polished copper apron front farm sink. There is no distressing. You can polish this sink regularly, or let it age naturally. We highly recommend letting the sink age naturally. You will find there is virtually no maintenance. I know of no other product with such a low degree of care. |

Lightly hammered 48 ounce copper apron front sink. This sink features a 2" thick apron that was designed to compensate for a cabinet detail. Patent pending on design |

This copper apron sink with Fire & Ice finish is installed in the 2003 San Francisco Decorator Showcase House by designer Kathleen Navarra. The kitchen was featured in the 2004 Better Homes and Gardens Beautiful Kitchens magazine. |

Did you think you can't have an apron front sink because you have stock cabinets or you have an existing sink cabinet that will not fit an apron front sink. Give our experts a call. The owner of Luxury Home Products has designed a sink which will fit just about any stock cabinet without doing a great deal of modification to the cabinet. If you are remodeling and were told you could not have an apron front sink, please give us a call. We have the only answer. Patent US D484,856 S. |

This is a side view of our patented sink design. Note the channel which slips over the face frame of the cabinet. Patent US D484,856 S. |
This is a custom finish with a true heavy patina. Notice the copper turned the greenish blue we all associate with copper. This was achieved by forcing the copper to age with chemicals and heat. We then top coated the front to protect it. |
This is another first for Luxury Home Products. We manufactured the first double bowl copper farm sink in the
industry. I designed this one for General Electric's year 2000 Monogram Series
literature. They asked us to build a double bowl copper farm sink for them.
The right one is slightly smaller, still large enough to work in. The left bowl
is 10" deep and the right one is 8" deep. The sink is a hammered finish, and we
heavily hammered this one. It is absolutely beautiful. |
These two pictures are of the same sink we built for G.E. 4 months later. It was used during the photo shoot and returned to us in a very aged and beautiful condition. If you would like to see what a copper sink would look like if it were not polished regularly, click on the 2 photos directly to the left. The bottom photo is of the interior of one of the bowls to show the beautiful colors. There are oranges, purples, greens, copper, red, blue and just about every color imaginable. One of the most fun aspects of owning a copper sink is the daily change in appearance. The sink starts out looking like fresh new pinkish copper. It quickly becomes a warmer orange color. With time, you may see some iridescent colors like the one on the left. Copper will age naturally, just like a penny. It will get darker brown with time. We think they get prettier with age. The best part of owning a copper sink is your ability to start the process over and over again. Just clean the sink with Bar Keepers Friend (we send some along) and you begin the process all over. Bar Keepers Friend will refresh the darkest finish in just minutes with little effort at all. It is truly an amazing product. We use it exclusively here and at home. |
We also manufacture bathroom jewelry. Take a look at this double walled angular vessel above counter lavatory sink. We make them to order. These can be used for a vegetable sink in the kitchen, a bar or a lavatory. This sink is made of double walled 48 ounce copper. The sink walls are 1 inch thick. |
Take a look at this double walled round vessel above counter round lavatory sink. We make them to order. These can be used for a vegetable sink in the kitchen, a bar or a lavatory. This sink is made of double walled 48 ounce copper. The sink walls are 1 inch thick. |
Folks, this one has to be the largest single bowl copper apron front sink in existence. It measures over 40" wide! The client asked for the drain to be located to the far right rear. We accommodated their wishes and the sink was shipped one week from order! Our sinks are hand made by one individual. Corners are copper welded for strength and beauty. We use 48 ounce copper on all sinks for strength and durability. |
